Brian Hall, Blacksmith - Maker of Fine, Handcrafted Wrought Iron

I began blacksmithing in 1989 at the Mystic Seaport Museum where I was able to combine my interests in handcraft and cultural history.  Since that time, I have increased my knowledge and skill level through workshops and apprenticeships with some of New England’s most respected artistic ironworkers.

I am inspired by the natural-and man-made beauty of the North Quabbin Region of Massachusetts - my current artistic interests include organizing bars with rather simple details into complex arrangements. These works, while at first appearing chaotic, are coherently organized with each bar responding to its neighbors while retaining its own unique identity.

While I enjoy making artistic work, I am primarily interested in making custom projects where I can use my designing and hammering skills to help clients create unique and beautiful ironwork for their homes.  As the photos in this webpage show, I work in a wide variety of traditional and contemporary styles and welcome small and large custom orders. I have many more photographs that I can email to people who are interested in particular styles or items.  Please feel free to call me at 978-249-6806 to discuss your project.
